1. What is Birdfy Cloud?

Birdfy Cloud is a comprehensive platform designed to enhance your birdwatching experience. It consists of two main components:

1.1 Cloud Storage

All Birdfy products support cloud storage, ensuring that every video clip captured by your Birdfy camera is securely uploaded and stored on our servers.

• Standard Storage Duration:
  • For all Birdfy products (except Birdfy birdhouses), video clips are stored for 30 days before being automatically cleared (unless you subscribe to the Moment Video Recording service).
  • For Birdfy birdhouses, video clips are stored for the duration of the current Story. Once the Story concludes, the videos are retained for another 30 days before being deleted.
• Collection Storage:
  • If there’s a video clip you’d like to keep, you can tap the star icon to add it to your Collection, where it will be stored indefinitely.
  • Collection space is limited to 5GB without a subscription. Videos in your Collection are not affected by the standard 30-day retention period.
• Extended Storage Options:
  • To extend the storage duration of your videos, you can subscribe to the Moment Video Recording service.
  • To expand your Collection space, you can subscribe to the Collection Storage service.

1.2 Cloud Services

Birdfy offers a variety of cloud services to take your birdwatching experience to the next level. These services are divided into two categories:

• Cloud Storage Services:
  • Moment Video Recording: Extends the length of each video clip and increases the storage duration.
  • Collection Storage: Expands the space available for your saved Collection.
• AI-Powered Services:
  • Bird Recognition: Identifies over 6,000 bird species, tagging them in your recorded videos.
  • Hummingbird Recognition: Specifically designed for Birdfy hummingbird feeders, identifying over 150 hummingbird species.

2. What is the price of each cloud service?

To view the pricing details for each cloud service, visit my.birdfy.com. Simply log in to your Birdfy account, and you'll find all the information you need.

Please note that if you subscribe and pay through Apple Pay or Google Pay, the actual amount you pay may be slightly higher than the prices shown on my.birdfy.com due to the commissions charged by Apple and Google. For the best price, we recommend subscribing directly on my.birdfy.com.

3. What are the features of each cloud service?

3.1 Moment Video Recording

The Moment Video Recording cloud service enhances your Birdfy’s motion-triggered videos, known as Moment videos. These videos are recorded every time motion is detected by your Birdfy camera and are securely stored in the cloud.

By default, Moment videos are:

• 20 seconds long
• Stored for 30 days before being automatically deleted.

With a subscription to the Moment Video Recording service, you’ll enjoy upgraded features:

• Videos are extended to 30 seconds each.
• Storage duration is increased to 60 days.

This service is perfect for those who want longer videos and more time to review their footage.

3.2 Collection Storage

The Collection Storage cloud service expands your Birdfy’s "Collection" storage space.

By default:

• Videos recorded by your Birdfy camera are stored in the cloud for 30 days before they are automatically cleared (unless you have a Moment Video Recording subscription).
• If you find a video you love, you can tap the star-shaped icon to save it to your "Collection," where it will be stored indefinitely.

However, the "Collection" has a 5GB free storage limit. If you need more space, you can subscribe to the Collection Storage service to expand it.

Note:

• The Collection Storage service is separate from your normal video cloud storage, which automatically clears videos every 30 days (without a Moment Video Recording subscription).

3.3 Bird Recognition

The Bird Recognition cloud service identifies over 6,000 bird species worldwide.

With a subscription to this service, your Birdfy camera can:

• Automatically recognize bird species visiting your feeder.
• Tag the identified bird species in the corresponding video.

Additional Details:

• This service can also identify other animals, such as squirrels and dogs.
• If you have a Birdfy product with lifetime AI recognition, this service is already included, and no subscription is necessary.
• If you have a Birdfy product with AI by subscription, you’ll need to subscribe to access this feature.
• This service applies to all Birdfy products, except birdhouses, which have their own unique AI recognition logic.

3.4 Hummingbird Recognition

The Hummingbird Recognition cloud service is specifically designed for Birdfy hummingbird feeders.

With this service, your Birdfy hummingbird feeder can:

• Identify over 150 hummingbird species across the Americas.

Additional Details:

• If you have a Birdfy hummingbird feeder with lifetime AI recognition, you won’t need to subscribe to this service, as it’s already included.
• If you have a Birdfy hummingbird feeder with AI by subscription, you’ll need to subscribe to enable this functionality.
• The Hummingbird Recognition service is a subset of the Bird Recognition service. All hummingbird species recognizable by this service are already included in the Bird Recognition service. However, it is offered as a standalone service for enhanced accuracy and for users who wish to focus solely on identifying hummingbirds.

4. Which cloud service is my Birdfy compatible with?
