Questions Related to Apple Pay

1. How do I cancel or apply for a refund for an order paid with Apple Pay?

Due to Apple Pay's limitations, Birdfy Support agents are not able to cancel Apple-billed subscriptions or issue refunds on your behalf. You'll need to manage your subscription directly through your Apple account.

  • Once you submit a refund request, Apple will review it. In most cases, refunds are processed within 1–3 business days. Your subscription will be canceled once your refund has been approved and issued.

2. How do I change my subscription plan if I paid with Apple Pay?

Because of Apple Pay's settings, Birdfy Support can't change subscription plans that are billed through Apple. To switch plans, please manage your subscription in the Birdfy app or directly in your Apple account.

3. I paid with Apple Pay. Can I manage my subscription (upgrade or unsubscribe) in the Birdfy app or on the Birdfy web client?

If you paid with Apple Pay, some actions must be managed through your Apple account, not Birdfy.

What you can do:

  1. In the Birdfy app
    1. Switch to a different subscription plan (upgrade/downgrade).
  2. In your Apple account (Apple ID)
    1. Switch to a different subscription plan.
    2. Cancel your subscription.
    3. Request a refund (where eligible, via Apple).

What you cannot do:

  1. In the Birdfy app
    1. You cannot cancel your subscription.
    2. You cannot request a refund.
  2. On the Birdfy web client
    1. You cannot switch plans, cancel, or request a refund for subscriptions paid via Apple Pay.

For details, see Apple's official guides:

4. Why can't I subscribe to the same plan a second time with Apple Pay?

This is a limitation set by Apple: for a given product type, only one active subscription is allowed per Apple account. If you need to purchase the same plan again, please subscribe through the Birdfy web client instead.

5. Why can't I use my Birdfy coupons when subscribing through Apple Pay?

Because of Apple's billing restrictions, Birdfy coupons can't be applied to subscriptions purchased via Apple Pay. To use your Birdfy coupons and get a better price, please subscribe through the Birdfy web client.

6. I can't find my subscription after I paid with Apple Pay in the Birdfy app. What should I do?

First, make sure you're logged in with the same Apple account you used to purchase the subscription. If the correct account is logged in, please wait a short while and refresh the page—the subscription status may take a moment to update.

7. I switched plans. Why hasn't the new plan taken effect?

Due to Apple's subscription rules, your new plan will only take effect after your current plan expires. Until then, you'll stay on your existing plan. If you want the new plan to start as soon as possible, you can cancel the current Apple-billed subscription and then re-subscribe via the Birdfy web client.

8. Why does my subscription status show "Subscribing"?

When your status shows "Subscribing", it means your payment is still being processed, has just been completed, or is in the process of being canceled.

  • If you completed the payment, please wait a few seconds and refresh the page. The status should update shortly.
  • If you did not finish the payment, the pending subscription will automatically disappear after a while.

9. Why can't I see my subscription in My Subscription in the Birdfy app after paying with Apple Pay?

After you complete a payment with Apple Pay, it may take a few minutes for your subscription information and status to sync to the Birdfy app. Please wait a few minutes, then refresh the page or restart the app to see the updated subscription.
