1. Membership Trial

1.1 Do I need to add a credit card?

No. The 15-day Plus membership trial is completely free. No payment method is required; you can claim it and start using it right away.

1.2 Who can use the trial?

All Birdfy users can claim the trial. Each account can only claim it once and cannot claim it again.

Accounts that already have a Birdfy Membership cannot claim the trial (for example, if you purchased a membership before claiming the trial, or you already migrated from an old Birdfy cloud service, the trial entry will no longer be available).

1.3 Can I get product discounts during the trial?

Yes. Trial members enjoy all Plus benefits, including a discount on Birdfy.com, which can be stacked with major promotions.

1.4 Will the trial conflict with my existing services?

No. The membership trial is an additional benefit and will not override or affect your existing cloud services, lifetime AI, or other legacy benefits.

If there are overlapping benefits, the system will automatically apply the higher one. (For example, if your Member plan includes 20 GB Collection Storage but you previously purchased 100 GB, you will have 100 GB.)



2. Migration from Old Birdfy Cloud Services

2.1 How do I migrate old services into the new membership system?

(Not yet available, expected to launch on May 8, 2026.)

Go to the app → Home → tap the icon in the top right to open “My” → tap My Subscriptions and follow the instructions. The system will automatically detect your legacy benefits and convert them.

2.2 How will the remaining time on my old services be converted?

(Not yet available, expected to launch on May 8, 2026.)

Conversion formula: Converted days = SUM(remaining value of active services) ÷ annual membership fee × 365. After migration, you'll receive membership time equal to the converted days (if you already have a membership, this will be added on top).

2.3 Can I still renew my existing (old) subscription?

Once old subscriptions are removed from sale, new purchases are no longer allowed. However, users with an active subscription can still renew and use it as normal until they cancel it themselves.

2.4 Can the Lifetime AI service be migrated?

(Not yet available, expected to launch on May 8, 2026.)

Yes. The conversion formula is still under discussion.

2.5 Can I keep my Lifetime AI service?

(Not yet available, expected to launch on May 8, 2026.)

Yes. If you choose not to migrate, your Lifetime AI service will continue with its original benefits, and it will not be affected by the new membership system.



3. Membership Benefits

3.1 What is Birdfy Membership?

Birdfy Membership is an account-based membership system with three levels: Free, Plus, and Pro. (The Pro level will be launched later.) One subscription covers multiple devices and includes benefits such as unlimited bird recognition, extended cloud storage, product discounts, and more.

3.2 Are membership benefits tied to devices or to my account?

Membership benefits are tied to your account, not to a single device. All devices under your account (up to the allowed device limit) can share membership benefits. You can change which devices are covered at any time.

3.3 Which channels and products are eligible for product discounts?

Product discounts apply to all products sold on Birdfy.com, including feeders, birdhouses, birdbaths, poles, etc. They do not apply to software or add-ons/accessories.

3.4 Can product discounts be stacked with other discounts?

Yes. Membership discounts can be combined with other platform discounts, such as major promotions, coupons, bundles, etc.

3.5 Will my content in Birdfy Cloud be deleted after my membership expires?

No. Saved Moment videos and Collections will be kept for 1 year and can still be downloaded, but you won't be able to add new ones. After 1 year, the content may be deleted.

The Plus plan supports bird recognition on up to 2 devices. When you start your trial or create a membership, you can choose which devices to enable bird recognition on. You can also change this later under Birdfy Membership → Membership Benefits → Linked Devices.

3.7 What does the bird recognition benefit include?

When a Moment video is generated, Birdfy AI will automatically identify the bird species in the video (for some sexually dimorphic species, it will also identify female/male). In addition to birds, it will also recognize 16 common backyard animals:

  • Bear
  • Fox
  • Dog
  • Cat
  • Mouse
  • Chicken
  • Duck
  • Deer
  • Lizard
  • Opossum
  • Raccoon
  • Rabbit
  • Squirrel
  • Snake
  • Cow
  • Chipmunk

3.8 What is Bird Data?

Bird Data is a member-exclusive birding dashboard that shows visit statistics, activity patterns, time-of-day analysis, and more.

3.9 What does "60-day Cloud Video Retention" mean?

Moment videos recorded by your device will be kept in the cloud for 60 days. After that, they will be automatically deleted.

3.10 If I subscribe to the Plus/Pro plan, will every Moment video automatically record for 30/60 seconds?

No. That's the maximum duration. You can adjust the recording mode and length in the Moment settings. Some devices support dynamic duration and can intelligently decide how long to record based on what's happening in the video (up to the maximum length). For example, recording can stop when the bird flies away to reduce empty footage.

3.11 What if my devices exceed the limit for my current plan?

Plus supports up to 2 devices. If you need more, you can upgrade to Pro. Pro supports 10 devices by default; beyond that, you can add extra devices at $1.99 per device per month.

3.12 If my membership expires and I renew later, will my previous benefits come back?

Yes. Once you renew, all membership benefits will be restored immediately, including extended recording duration, product discounts, and more. However, anything that happened while your membership was inactive will not be updated retroactively. For example:

  • Moments created during the inactive period will still be deleted 30 days after they were created, even if you renew within those 30 days.
  • Moments that were not Bird ID’d during the inactive period will not be re-processed after you renew.
  • Birdfy Recaps, Birdfy Highlights, and similar features that were not generated during the inactive period will not be created later.


4. Other Questions

4.1 Can I apply the membership discount to products I just bought?

No. Membership discounts only apply to new orders placed after membership activation. Completed product orders are not eligible for price adjustments or partial refunds.
