Getting Started

Welcome to the Birdfy family! Let's get you ready for an exciting and delightful birdwatching adventure!

Step 1: Charge First

Upon receiving your Birdfy Bath Pro, refrain from assembling or setting it up outdoors right away. Locate the camera in the package and use the provided USB Type-C cable to charge the camera until it's fully charged.

A solid red light indicator will illuminate during the charging process. The light will turn off once the camera is fully charged.

Step 2: Download the Birdfy App and Create an Account

Download the Birdfy app on your smartphone or tablet from the link below. Alternatively, you can search for Birdfy on the App Store, Google Play, or scan the QR code on the product packaging to download the app.

Step 3: Follow In-App Instructions to Pair Your Camera

Ensure that your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. What is 2.4GHz Wi-Fi? How do I ensure my Wi-Fi is 2.4GHz?

After installing the Birdfy app and setting up an account, tap the "+" icon at the bottom right corner to navigate to the 'Add Device' page. Select Birdfy Bath Pro and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your camera. For detailed guidance, see Camera Pairing.

Step 4: Assemble the Product

With the camera fully charged and ready, it's time to prepare your Birdfy Bath Pro! Confirm that you have all the accessories listed in the User Manual. Follow the assembly instructions provided in the manual or visit Assembly & Device Care to know how to assemble your product.

Step 5: Set Up Your Birdfy Outdoors

  1. Choose a Location with Strong Wi-Fi Signal
    1. Check your Wi-Fi signal strength by accessing Device Settings > Wi-Fi Analysis.
  2. Proper Installation
    1. Place your birdbath in a location with some shade to keep the water cool and slow down algae growth. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight.
    2. If there are cats or other predators in your area, make sure there's enough open space around the birdbath—especially between the bath and nearby shrubs or bushes. This gives birds a clear view of their surroundings and time to escape if danger approaches.
    3. To reduce the risk of birds hitting windows, position your birdbath either closer than 3 feet (0.9 meters) or farther than 15 feet (4.6 meters) from any windows.
    4. If the birdbath must be placed near windows, apply decals or window tape to make the glass more visible to birds.
    5. Position the birdbath away from bird feeders to prevent seeds, shells, and debris from contaminating the water. For more tips, refer to Birdbath Tips.

Step 6: Maintenance

  1. Change the water and clean the basin every 2-4 days.
  2. Deep clean your birdbath at least once a week to remove algae, dirt, and bird droppings. Use a scrub brush and clean water (no harsh chemicals).
