Camera Pairing
Before we begin, ensure you have downloaded the Birdfy app and completed the sign-up process.
A. Pairing Your Camera With Bluetooth
- On the home page, tap the "+" icon located at the bottom right corner to access the Add Device page. Select Birdfy Feeder Metal 2 4K.
- Locate and scan the QR code on the bottom of your Birdfy Feeder Metal 2 4K camera.
- Follow the in-app instructions to connect your phone to a 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi network. Enter the Wi-Fi password.
- Switch power button to power on the camera. Then, double press the pairing button to activate Wi-Fi pairing mode. The blue light should begin flashing, and you will hear a periodic chime.
- Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and keep it close to the camera. The app will automatically search for nearby Birdfy devices.
- Once the camera is discovered via Bluetooth, select it in the app to begin Wi-Fi setup. The flashing blue light will turn solid after a successful connection, and the app will proceed to the next step.
- Once the camera is connected to Wi-Fi, you can opt to enable device location for improved AI identification or manually input a location.
- Name your Birdfy and begin your birdwatching expedition!
Common Issues
- Bluetooth Pairing Fails (Blue Light Keeps Flashing):
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- Keep your phone close to the camera during pairing.
- Make sure the camera is powered on and in pairing mode.
- Cannot Find the Device QR Code:
- The device QR code of the camera is located on the underside of the camera.
- Wi-Fi Connection Fails:
- Birdfy Feeder Metal 2 4K supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.
- Ensure your Wi-Fi password is entered correctly.
- If the connection fails, try moving the device closer to your router and reconnecting through the app.
- Camera Fails to Connect to Wi-Fi (Blue Light Turns from Flashing to Solid, But App Does Not Progress):
- Verify your Wi-Fi password.
- Ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal.
- Retry the connection process. If the issue persists, contact support@birdfy.com.
B. Pairing Your Camera With QR Code
- On the home page, tap the "+" icon located at the bottom right corner to access the Add Device page. Select Birdfy Feeder Metal 2 4K.
- Locate and scan the QR code on the bottom of your Birdfy Feeder Metal 2 4K camera.
- Follow the in-app instructions to connect your phone to a 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi network. Enter the Wi-Fi password.
- Switch power button to power on the camera. Then, double press the pairing button to activate Wi-Fi pairing mode. The blue light should begin flashing, and you will hear a periodic chime.
- Position your phone close to the camera for scanning the QR code. Ensure that the distance between your phone and the camera is between 4-12 inch (10-30 cm).
- If the camera successfully scans the QR code, the flashing blue light will turn solid, and the app will progress to the next step.
- Once the camera is connected to Wi-Fi, you can opt to enable device location for improved AI identification or manually input a location.
- Name your Birdfy and begin your birdwatching expedition!
Common Issues
- Camera Fails to Scan the Phone QR Code (Blue Light Keeps Flashing):
- Ensure that the lens protective film is removed.
- Increase your screen brightness and adjust the distance between your phone and the camera.
- Cannot Locate the Device QR Code:
- The device QR code of Birdfy Feeder Metal 2 4K is located on the bottom of the camera.
- Camera Fails to Connect to Wi-Fi (Blue Light Turns from Flashing to Solid, but App Does Not Progress):
- Verify your Wi-Fi password.
- Ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal.
- Retry the connection process. If the issue persists, contact support@birdfy.com.

- Moment: View all content captured by your Birdfy cameras (except birdhouses). With AI Bird Recognition on, bird ID tags will appear on each video.
- Live Feed: Watch real-time bird activity from your cameras.
- Collection: Tap the star icon on your favorite clips to save them permanently to the cloud.
- Community: Share bird snapshots and explore sightings from fellow bird lovers around the world.
- Device Sharing: Easily share your camera feed with friends and family.
