1. Why can't the device scan the QR code on my phone?
- Camera Not in Wi-Fi Configuration Mode
- Turn on the camera by pressing and holding the power button for 3 seconds.
- Then, double-press the power button to enter Wi-Fi configuration mode (the blue light should flash).
- Dirty Camera Lens
- Remove any plastic protective film still attached to the lens.
- Gently clean the lens to avoid fingerprints or smudges.
- Camera Cannot Focus
- Slowly adjust the distance between your phone and the camera to help it focus.
- Make sure you scan the QR code in moderate lighting (avoid overly dark or bright environments).
- Using the Wrong Camera to Scan
- Ensure you’re using the front camera to scan the QR code.
- Hold the phone at a distance of 5-7 cm from the camera for accurate scanning.
2. Feeder is leaking
If your Hum Feeder Duo is leaking, it may be caused by the following:
- The feeder is not hung perpendicular to the ground, causing nectar to leak.
- The feeding ports on the silicone cover are damaged.
- Nectar remains in the feeder base after cleaning. If not emptied completely, it can spill when the bottle is reattached.
To Prevent Nectar Leakage:
- When hanging the feeder outside, ensure it is hung straight and perpendicular to the ground.
- Inspect the feeding ports on the silicone cover for damage. If damaged, contact support@birdfy.com for a replacement.
- Empty the feeder base and remove any remaining nectar from the tray. Press the silicone seal firmly to ensure it fits securely along the edge of the tray before reattaching the bottle.
3. Feeder lens is fogged or has water condensation
If your Hum Feeder Duo lens is fogged or shows signs of condensation, it may be caused by moisture entering the camera lens.
- Please contact support@birdfy.com for assistance with a replacement.
- When charging the Hum Feeder Duo outdoors, ensure you only uncover the small silicone flap for the charging port.
- Avoid uncovering the entire silicone flap, as this can allow moisture to enter the camera and cause condensation.
